WeBA News

Happy Summer Greetings from WEBA

As WeBA has wrapped up another year I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their continued involvement and support of a truly great organization.

As my time on the board with WeBA draws to a close I want to thank all of the previous board members I have worked with. It has been a truly remarkable experience. It has been wonderful to help local businesses resolve issues with the City of Edmonton. Andrew Knack and Erin
Rutherford have been most helpful. I am grateful the local business connections that have formed over the years and the wonderful content of the WeBA Events. I am especially grateful to those Sponsors and Golfers who continually support the yearly golf tournament and the staff of The Ranch Golf and Country Club for making the event completely remarkable.

The West Edmonton Business Association has always been more than just an organization. It’s a thriving network built by passionate entrepreneurs and innovators looking to help like-minded
individuals shape the small business community.

The five pillars of WeBA are the foundations supporting this small business community.

our-five-pillars

Strong leadership is the foundation of any impactful organization. As we continue to grow and evolve, we need fresh perspectives, diverse experiences, and committed voices to shape the initiatives that matter most to our business community. Whether you’re a seasoned business
owner or a rising entrepreneur, joining the Board means you’ll help:

  • Influence the direction of local business development
  • Advocate for policies and programs that support economic growth
  • Build meaningful connections and collaborations
  • Contribute to a legacy of leadership in small business

Now, we’re calling on that same spirit to help guide our next chapter. We’re seeking individuals who are:

  • Passionate about the local business landscape
  • Eager to contribute time and energy to community-driven goals
  • Strategic thinkers with a collaborative mindset
  • Advocates for innovation and a strong voice for impactful resolutions

You don’t need prior board experience; just the drive to make a difference.

We are currently seeking individuals for the following board positions:

  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Membership
  • Technology

This is the time for new ideas and new points of view. We welcome all.
Going forward there will be a new City Council and new challenges for all involved. I trust everyone, The City of Edmonton, the Small Businesses of Edmonton and WeBA will work together for the greater good.

Please forward nominations to weba.president@gmail.com. All elections will held at the AGM on the third week of October 2025. Please watch for more information.
