As the 2024/2025 year winds down, we can’t help but reflect on what an incredible year it’s been for the West Edmonton Business Association (WEBA)! From thought-provoking discussions to unforgettable mixers and our signature golf tournament, this year was packed with opportunities to learn, connect, and have some serious fun. Here’s a look back at the highlights that made 2024/2025 one for the books. We are looking forward to what the 2025/2026 season brings!
January – Kicking Off with Insight
We started the year with a full house at our Capital Gains Tax Luncheon Panel. This event proved both timely and engaging. Industry experts broke down the evolving tax landscape and helped local professionals and investors make sense of how capital gains policies affect their financial planning. The conversation was lively, the takeaways practical, and the networking over lunch, as always, was top-notch.
February – Brewing Up Connections
Next up, we swapped spreadsheets for pints at Irrational Brewing for our February Business Mixer. The atmosphere was buzzing as Edmonton’s entrepreneurs and business leaders gathered to chat, laugh, and share ideas over craft brews and light bites. It was the perfect mid-winter reminder that business can be both productive and a lot of fun.
March – A Night of Billiards and Business
In March, the action moved to Metropolitan Billiards, where our WeBA Business Mixer combined pool tables, great food, and even better company. Cue sticks in hand, attendees made new connections and celebrated local business wins in a casual, lively atmosphere.
May – Getting into the Swing
As spring rolled in, so did the excitement for our annual golf events. We teed things up with a Virtual Golf Mixer at The Golf Factory, a fun pre-tournament evening where members practiced their drives and shared a few laughs. Whether it was a perfect swing or a missed putt, everyone left ready for the big tournament ahead.
June – The Big Tournament
June brought one of WEBA’s most anticipated traditions: the Annual Golf Tournament. With an early morning start, sunshine, and plenty of friendly competition, the day featured 18 holes, a GPS-equipped cart, breakfast sandwiches, and a celebratory banquet to wrap it all up. As always, this event showcased the best of our community, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and a healthy dose of fun.
July – A Night at the Riverhawks
On Thursday, July 3rd, we hosted our 2nd Annual Night at the Riverhawks, and it was truly one to remember! It was a perfect summer evening for a ball game at the jewel of Edmonton’s River Valley: RE/MAX Field. We gathered on the Delta Valley Patio with 50 of our friends for a great night of baseball, fellowship, and networking.
In keeping with WEBA’s Five Pillars, this event hit all the right notes: Connection, Prosperity, and Promotion. Attendees, both members and guests, had the chance to connect with like-minded professionals, foster prosperity by supporting one another’s business success, and promote their own ventures in a relaxed, social setting.
A huge thank-you goes out to all our members for their continued support, and a warm welcome to the new friends we met that evening. we hope to see you as official members soon! Of course, we can’t forget our gratitude to Ryan and the Riverhawks team for their outstanding hospitality. From the food and beverages to the service, everything was top-notch.

August – Summer Mixer at SYC Brewing
We wrapped up summer with our August Business Mixer at SYC Brewing, where members and guests gathered to network and unwind with a pint in hand. Laughter filled the air as attendees reconnected, swapped stories, and toasted to a year of continued collaboration. It was the perfect way to close out the summer and look ahead to the fall calendar.
