Rendel Elock

President & Director of Advocacy

Rendel is the Terminal Manager at Central Carriers (Edmonton) Ltd. Rendel believes the survival of our economy is fully dependent on transportation services and has spent the last 27 years pushing this industry forward. He feels it is essential everyone understand that trucks keep supermarkets full of food and hospitals full of supplies, and it is his passion to connect customers with their goods.

Brad Abel

Past President

Brad Abel is the President and a Director of Ketek Group. Ketek was founded in 1979 by his father, and Brad began working in the wash bay when he was old enough to do so. He also took turns in the shop, the yard and the field. Brad earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta in Environmental Earth Sciences with a focus on hydrogeology. After six years of consulting work with WorleyParsons, Brad rejoined Ketek in 2011. He assumed the presidency in 2016. In Brad’s spare time he coaches children’s hockey and soccer.

Erin Vanderveen

Secretary

Erin Vanderveen is a lawyer at Stillman LLP and practices primarily in the areas of real estate, corporate, estates and civil litigation. She started her legal career with Stillman LLP in 2018 as a research student and is now an associate at the firm. Erin was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and feels a strong connection to Edmonton’s business community. While she is not in the office, Erin enjoys spending time in the mountains and finding new places to explore with her kayak.

Kory is Commercial Sales Consultant and Marketing Lead at Alberta Wilbert Sales (AWS), a precast concrete company located in west Edmonton. AWS is also a proud founding member of WeBA

Kory’s professional experience spans companies at various stages of growth, from multiple start-ups, to his current role within a 55-year-old business. Skilled in a variety of business areas, including sales, marketing and management, Kory also has a strong belief in building and maintaining a positive, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Outside work, Kory enjoys staying active, camping, playing guitar, and spending time with family and friends.

Lisa Zhang

Director of Communications

Lisa Zhang is a Financial Advisor with a passion for helping young professionals achieve financial stability. She provides guidance on budgeting, saving, and investing to navigate various life stages, from buying a first home to planning vacations and preparing for retirement. Committed to building long-term relationships, she offers more than just meetings and investment products. 

With over six years of experience at BMO, TD, and now Edward Jones, she focuses on strategic investment management and comprehensive client support. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, she addresses diverse needs and is actively involved in the Edmonton community, including U of A alumni activities. Outside of work, she enjoys horseback riding, golf, archery, and snowboarding.

Director of Education

Matthew is someone who specializes in waste reduction. To get a little more specific, he works with businesses and individuals to help reduce the amount of wasted time that is spent on unnecessary processes. Processes such as entering the same data in multiple different softwares, or having to search through various platforms in order to gain an analytical understanding of how their business is performing. Matthew builds simple, and cost effective roadmaps that help guide businesses to a place where they can be more efficient with their time.

Matt is the Business Development Manager at Digital Tea, a web development & digital marketing company in Edmonton, AB Matt is new to WeBA but brings over 25 years of experience in the web industry.  He has personally worked on and managed over 300 web projects for large and small organizations across North America. If it’s on the internet or needs to be,  Matt and his team of professionals got you covered!

Sandra is the founder and lead event professional of InFocus-Events, and owner of Duo Craft Coffee Bar & Service. InFocus-Events, Est. in 2003, is an Edmonton-based company that specializes in events and conference management. InFocus-Events has a commitment to quality, customer service, along with; meeting needs & exceeding expectations. Sandra is a Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) with a wide-ranging portfolio including, United Nations Women’s Global Leaders Forum hosted by the City of Edmonton, conferences, workshops in the oil and gas industry, post-Secondary events, Grand Openings, professional announcements, Galas, and other corporate and social functions. From consultation to event completion, our professionalism and attention to detail can help you be successful with your functions of any size. Duo Craft Coffee, flavour that matters. A craft coffee service freshly brewed for you! We offer coffee service in your office or as an addition to your events. Sandra is also a dedicated leader and community spokesperson who has held executive roles in several volunteer organizations. Sandra welcomes working together with the Board to increase the presence and awareness of the Association and community.
